During a hike on Aliso Peak in Laguna Beach, Ron Marlett saw many possibilities for subject matter while looking through his camera's telephoto lens. The aerial view of the coast provided interesting ways to divide the painting's pictorial space into small areas  of dark and light colors. The hotel roof  provides a complementary color to the green foliage and a balancing element to the gardens that are divided by the curving walkways. You can buy a poster at Ron Marlett's Store
